More Gaga

Lady Gaga at first seemed to me to be sort of a Madonna knock-off, except that her first really famous album produced Just Dance, that really great track that everyone still loves to think of as classic Gaga.  Since then, her sound has degraded considerably, and she’s become less interesting for her music than for her absolutely bizarre fashion statements and behavior.  Granted, some people will disagree with me on this, but I honestly don’t like any of her new music.  It’s really gone downhill, and I wish she sounded as good as she used to.  But have you ever wondered who some of Gaga’s big influences were?

Here is a great infographic showing some of those influences, and they might help explain why Lady Gaga is like she is. Yesterday, as I was emptying out my storage unit at aspenstoragecenters.com, I heard on the radio that Gaga has said she relates to Marilyn Monroe, which got me curious about Gaga’s influences. Many of these might shock you, but the Madonna one didn’t surprise me one bit.  I mean, have you listed to that “baby I was born this way?”  It sounds just like Madonna’s “Respect Yourself.”  Same tune, everything.  So on to the graphic:
